At Shunem we endeavour to provide flexible a flexible, consistence and high standard of patient care. We invest highly on staff training to provide committed healthcare workers within the healthcare setting.
We provide qualified and trained Health care Assistants, Support Worker and Registered nurses to Nursing homes, Residential homes, NHS and other Healthcare settings.

Healthcare Assistants
Our HCA’S are compassionate individuals who work closely with patients and their families. They are a vital part of the team who are trained to give high standard of care to patients governed with dignity and respect escalating patients concerns appropriately. Patient care is their strength delivered with
sensitivity and empathy.
Responsibility include:
- At all times maintain the dignity and respect of patients
- Maintain excellent communication with patients, relatives, and members of the MDT regarding all aspects of care demonstrating a variety of communication skills in accordance with the client group
- Implement patient care plans as instructed by a Registered Nurse
- Assist in the admission process by accurately recording patients’ demographic details
- To assist patients with personal and oral hygiene as instructed
- To assist patients with eating and drinking
- Monitoring and accurate recording of dietary and fluid intake appropriately reporting any abnormalities to the nurse in charge
- Enable patients to access appropriate toileting facilities collecting and disposing of body waste.
- Testing blood sugars, urine and stool specimens & accurately record results
- Removal of male / female indwelling urethral catheters
- Inspect & accurately record the condition of patients’ skin integrity, appropriately escalating concerns
- Able to prepare equipment for aseptic procedures as instructed
- Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and pain scores on instruction from the Registered Nurse. Accurately recording the results & and reporting significant findings.
- Under the supervision of a qualified nurse, support patients undergoing clinical
- Procedures ensuring their dignity, respect, comfort, and safety.
- Participate in the enhanced observation of patients
We know Healthcare assistants are often the first point of contact so they are friendly and confident, with good interpersonal skills. We train our Healthcare Assistants on a regular basis to ensure that their skill and knowledge is up to date with current industry requirements.
Supports Workers
Our Support workers are sympathetic, friendly, and approachable. They offer personalised care with compassion, commitment, and courage.
Our support workers will be able to assist in the following but this will vary depending on the role and the service user:
- Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
- Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
- Supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks or administrating medication.
- Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
- Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
All our support workers are friendly and caring to ensure you receive the best care and support possible.
Registered Nurses
At Shunem we understand the challenges of health and social care. Our
RGN are trained to give high standard seamless care. They are governed by the
embedded care cores; commitment, competence, communication, and compassion.
They are carefully selected
by their ability to cope, with emotional stressful situation and conflict
management. They work as part of multi-disciplinary team to improve patients’
health, hospital experience, a smooth and speedy recovery.
- They maintain up to date professional training portfolio to support knowledge skill framework and professional development.
- They deliver organised individualised patient care, ensuring patients physical, social and psychological needs are met.
- They communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, their relatives/carers, nursing colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in an accurate and efficient manner.
- They area team players who strive to contribute and support management team maintain/improve and develop high standards of patient care, thereby ensuring that the patients are treated with privacy, dignity and respect.
- Our nurses will assess and identify patients’ needs,
- They will implement and monitor the patient’s medical plan and treatment.
- They will also ensure that patient care is conducted according to the policies and standards that have been set.
- Record patients' vital signs and medical information
- Reevaluate patient care plan as conditions change
- Consult and coordinate with other healthcare team members
- Direct or supervise less experienced nursing staff
- Monitor patients' diet and exercise
- Prepare patients and assist with treatments, surgery, or exams as needed
- Manage stocks of supplies
- Ensure storage and disposal of medication is carried out according to policy
- Participate in clinical improvements and offer ideas on clinical and non-clinical policies
- Assist with the investigation of complaints by patients or family members
- Maintain continuing education and licensing requirements
- Report any issues that arose during each shift
